Synchrony is a fractional yacht ownership company offering 6-week shares on a luxury yacht starting at $4.8 million for a five-year term. What a deal considering this type of ship could normally run you an approximate $20 million. The first yacht in the fleet is the 120-foot Benetti Classic 120, crafted by Stefano Righini with interior finishings designed by Francois Zuretti. Traditional onboard features include two entertaining saloons, alfresco dining area and bar, sun deck with Jacuzzi, a jet ski, and two wave runners.
With promises from Synchrony that fractional owners are protected against credit risk as well as the responsibility that goes along with maintaining a proper crew, watch for yacht sharing programs to become the hot new trend of the tides.
