New Yachting Village in the British Virgin Islands
By Christina Bohnstengel

This year marks the 40th anniversary of yacht charter specialists, The Moorings. To celebrate in style, local dignitaries and company executives attended a grand party at the new Moorings Village in Tortola on the British Virgin Islands that included a christening of the new yachts in their fleet like the Moorings 474 Power Cat, 4600 catamaran, and Cruising World’s 2009 Boat of the Year, Moorings 43.3 monohull. With $15 million invested in the property and the new ships, Peter Long, Chief Executive and Executive Director of TUI Travel that owns Moorings has every reason to feel like a proud papa.
“At TUI Travel we are committed to offering the best holiday experiences in the world, and we have invested in The Moorings, both at this base and in the yacht fleet itself, in order to ensure we continue to deliver the highest standards of sailing vacations — standards which The Moorings has built its 40 year reputation on. I was extremely proud to be part of the unveiling celebration of The Moorings Village in Tortola and I believe that this new facility has given us the very best yachting facility in the Caribbean from which to operate.”
The five star facilities of Moorings Village include everything that one would expect from one of the world’s premier yacht charter companies.
