Calling All Superyachts to San Diego

San Diego is vying for your superyacht. The bayside megalopolis is on a mission to become the West Coast capital for luxury yachts with the opening of another superyacht marina. The new 12-slip facility, Fifth Avenue Landing, offers a docking home for vessels between 65 and 300 feet. Located adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center, dockmaster Fred Larsson said, “We promise megayacht owners, captains, and crew the finest berthing experience they’ve ever had.” To test out the validity of their promise, just ask the boaters at Feadship. The 225-foot megayacht, Attessa, spent several weeks there earlier this year.

The San Diego Superyacht Association formed in 2008 in an unabashed bid to become the premier destination for superyachts on America’s West Coast. The Fifth Avenue Landing joins other privately-owned facilities like Kona Kai Marina and Shelter Island Marina as well as The Wharf, the downtown facility that offers med moorings for yachts of any size.
