Speedy Sailing
By Christina Bohnstengel

This week’s yachting news has been chocked full of superlatives. We reported on the debut of the world’s largest superyacht, the “Dubai,” as well as the largest luxury catamaran, “One Fifty.”
Today we bring you the world’s fastest production sailboat, the “SIG45.” Designed by Le Breton Yachts and named for “Speed, Innovation, and Grace,” she wins her title as the world’s fastest because of her ability to sail in excess of 25 knots. Traditionally only powerboats could reach those kinds of speeds.
Superyacht designer Bjorn Johansson worked on the ship’s interiors, using luxury fabrics and fittings. SIG45 features three double cabins, two fully equipped bathrooms, a galley, saloon and separate navigation station.
The luxury sailboat is constructed entirely of carbon fiber and is for sale for $900,000.
