Playing off of the success of the Viking 74, the New Jersey shipyard, VikingĀ  Yachts, unveiled the Viking 82 Convertible at the Miami International Boat Show in February of this year. The newer version of the vessel is receiving rave reviews as a luxury, sportfishing boat. It is eight feet longer than the 74, and the extra space makes all the difference, allowing for a palatial master suite with a seating area, dressing table, two large hanging lockers and an expansive bath. The exceptional size of the salon has also been noted by industry experts, and is designed with hand-finished teak joinery and satin finishes. While features on the flydeck as well as the shape of the bow and hull are being touted for their design evolution, this is still a boat built for serious sportsmen, and as such includes under-mount freezers, insulated fiberglass bait wells, and cavernous fish wells.
