The Dana Point Harbor Boat Show concluded this past Sunday in Orange County, California and by all accounts, the turnout was not as far off as originally expected. In years past the number of visitors could run anywhere from 8,000 to 10,000 and show chairman Brian Dunn expected large numbers again for this year’s ninth anniversary. This year there were more than 125 boats for sale on the water and more than 75 land displays. Dunn said that exhibitor numbers were about the same as in previous years, but they had to work twice as hard to get the vendors to return.

As we all know by now, if you’re in the market for a luxury yacht, this is a great year for a steal of a deal and Dunn emphasized that point. “I know of one $300,000 boat at the show that has been discounted to $100,000. There are just some terrific buys this year…”
