Fiji is predicted to be the super yacht hub of the South Pacific, with Port Denarau in the perfect position to be the main port of operation.
Fiji’s government is hoping to capitalize on the fast-growing super yacht industry by regularizing the first-ever super yacht decree.
Construction amounting up to $2 million has been completed at Denarau to accomodate an additional six super yachts. More than 700 super yachts arrived at Denarau in 2010, compared to more than 900 in 2011.
Denarau is fully booked for the next three months, and its economy depends heavily on tourists arriving on mega yachts and their habits for big spending.
